The UE3310 or UE3315 is a USB 3.1 Gen1 extender cable which extends the distance from computers to USB devices up to 10 M [50 M through daisy chaining]. 
USB 3.1 Gen1 specifications provide high speed performance of 5Gbps for file transference it is also backward compatible with USB 2.0 and 1.1 standards.
Plug and play, means there is no software installation required.
