Subject :
CS1764 VGA to DVI

Description :
I am trying to connect two different laptops to the KVM device, but the video connection does not work (keyboard and mouse work).

My two laptops have VGA video output, so I bought a DVI-VGA adapter. As it didn't work, I changed the adapter in the selling point, but it still doesn't work with the new one. It seems to be some problem with the KVM switch.

Solution :
There are three different specs of DVI interfaces.
DVI-A support Analog signal(VGA)
DVI-D support Digital signal
DVI-I Support both Analog and digital signal, it can support DVI-D and DVI-A
Please check the following Web for more information about the DVI interfaces.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DVI
The signal of VGA interfaces is Analog, by VGA to DVI converter, the VGA would transfer to DVI-A. If you want to connect VGA PC with CS1764 and DVI LCD, all of your devices and cable need to support DVI-I.

The CS1764 supports DVI-I, but the ATEN KVM Cable enclose with CS1764 only support the DVI-D. Please prepare DVI-I or DVI-A cable to connect PC to CS1764, and CS1764 to monitor.
