Subject :
What is Skew ?

Description :
What is Skew ?

Solution :
The Cat5e/6 cables are designed with differing pair twist rate, resulting in electrical length differences between the 4 pairs. When transmitting RGB video signals over these cables, color separation occurs, creating an undesirable image. This effect is referred to as “Skew”.
The skew level is negligible especially at distances below 100m; however this skew level can be significant when using Cat5e/6, in particular over longer distances.
