Charging for Java Licensing ?
 
Description : 
Oracle has announced that, effective January 2019, Java SE 8 public updates will no longer be available for "Business, Commercial or Production use" without a commercial license. 
What is the impact of that for the KVM's that use the Java Client to perform their function? 
Will the OpenJDK version be compatible with the KVM's? 
 
Solution : 
The library or the function of Java SE including JRE ATEN use doesn't involve the function in Java SE Advanced, Java Client is free to use. 
And Java open JDK is free to use also.

If you still have the concern of Oracle Java, you may use Open JDK instead. 
ATEN has verified and confirmed that the KVM over IP switch products all can compatible with OpenJDK8, but please make sure the firmware on your KVM over IP switch is with the correct version.  
To support OpenJDK , the exact firmware version of each KVM over IP switch or software, please refer to the table below:
