I have a Macintosh computer and PC. When switching back to the Apple from the PC, background tasks like downloading and printing were suspended

When switched away from the Mac computer, the Apple operating system will check its availability. 
If unavailable, the system will go to sleep mode.

Please adjust the energy saving preference to "Never" to avoid entering sleep mode.
